Due to be published in March 2025, How the Successful deal with the Stressful describes 25 different wellbeing strategies which we can use to help counter stress and boost resilience in order to achieve our goals. Each chapter includes a description of the strategy as well as the underlying science, and it illustrates how it has been used by a famous person from the world of business, science, sport, entertainment or politics.
“What I particularly appreciate is how Mark breaks down complex concepts into actionable steps, making it easy for busy professionals to implement positive changes. The diverse range of role models featured means there's something relatable for everyone. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to boost their wellbeing and performance.”

I had my second book, Beat Stress at Work, published in 2022. It is a hybrid of sorts, combining my experiences of mental ill health across the entirety of my career with a strong self-help element. Here, I am able to introduce a number of frameworks, tools, techniques and checklists which help the reader monitor, manage and boost their own mental wellbeing.
“Mark’s insightful book highlights the importance of moving from reactive to preventative measures in addressing mental health. It ably demonstrates the value of identifying individual purpose to build greater resilience. It’s invaluable for those seeking to address stress in their career.”

Breakdown and Repair was my first book, published in 2019. It centres around two stories. The first provides a narrative of my work-related breakdown in my late thirties and demonstrates how good stress can quickly turn bad and ugly. The second story describes my daughter’s struggle with anorexia nervosa and how my wife and I cared for her during this difficult period.
“I loved this book and devoured it in a single day. Whether on his own illness or his daughter’s struggles, Mark writes clearly and without sentimentality. He is brutally honest about the reality of mental illness with important insights about how to survive it.”
